The Atomium, Belgium's most iconic monument, was designed by engineer André Waterkeyn for the 1958 World's Fair. This 102-meter-high steel structure consists of nine spheres, each with a diameter of eighteen meters. Five of the nine spheres are accessible to the public. The design is based on the structure of an iron crystal, magnified 165 billion times.
The Atomium was initially planned to be demolished after the World's Fair. However, in a very short time, the building became so iconic and so defining of the Brussels skyline that we can still enjoy it today!
Between 2006 and 2008, the Atomium was thoroughly restored, after which it became more than ever the most famous symbol of the city of Brussels.
This 3D puzzle offers you a unique opportunity to bring Belgium's most visited monument into your home. Scale: 1/350
